Statement of Faith

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.” (Hebrews 12:1-2a)

God

We believe that God is the creator of all things visible and invisible. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1, Acts 17:24, Matthew 28:19, John 10:30, Ephesians 4:4-6)

Jesus Christ

We believe in the virgin birth of God’s son, Jesus Christ, fully human and fully divine, in his sinless life, his miracles, his atoning death on the cross, his resurrection, his ascension to the right hand of the Father, and his return in power and glory (Romans 1:1-4, Galatians 4:4, Isaiah 7:14, Philippians 2:5-11, Corinthians 5:21, Acts 1:9-11; 2:22-24, Hebrews 1:1-4)

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the power and present ministry of the Holy Spirit who indwells believers and enables Christians to live godly lives, and that God heals and delivers the oppressed, using his church as he has in the past. (Acts 2:38-39, 1 Corinthians 6:19, Mark 16:15-18, Matthew 10:1)

Scripture

We believe in the inspiration, sufficiency, and inerrancy of the Bible. (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20)

Salvation

We believe that salvation is a gift from God, acquired by grace alone for whoever believes in Jesus Christ as our personal Savior and Lord. Apart from Jesus there is no salvation. (Ephesians 2:8-9, John 3:16, Romans 10:9-10, John 1:12, Acts 4:12)

The Resurrection

We believe in the second coming of Jesus Christ, the final judgement, the resurrection of the dead, eternal reward for the just and eternal damnation for the unjust. (Revelation 22:12, Acts 24:15, Daniel 12:2)

The Church

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in Jesus Christ, who make up the body of the church and have each been given different gifts, abilities, and strengths to contribute to the body. (1 Corinthians 1:10, 12:4-31, Ephesians 4:11-13, Romans 12:6-8)

The Great Commission

We believe Christians are called to help spread the Good News of Jesus Christ through ministries of evangelism and discipleship. (Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 1:8, Romans 10:9-15, 1 Peter 3:15)
